An important part of maintaining quality of movement is exercise and stretching between treatments. Every horse is different so discuss with your veterinarian if this stretch is appropriate for your horse, how often your horse should be doing theses stretches and how many reps are appropriate. Lifting a hind leg, keeping the foot close to the ground, circle the leg clockwise and counter clockwise for a count of 10-15. You may have to start with small circles and can work up to larger circles as the muscles relax and can move the leg more freely. This is a great stretch for the hip and iliopsoas muscle.
